What is the relationship between Users and Addressbook entires? I see
that there is a special address book called Accounts. What I want to do
is turn an existing addressbook entry into an Account (user). We want
to do this in order to give access to some data via site manager. So an
addressbook member can create a logon and be part of the group
"customer" with defined ACL.
Thanks
Charles

Hi Charles,
every user has an associated addressbook entry referencing with
egw_addressbook.account_id to the egw_accounts table.
To make an ordinary contact an account, you have to create the entry in
the account table and then modify the contact to set the account_id of
the account AND set contact_owner=0.
Within the UI you can create a new account and merge it with the
contact, giving you the same result as what I described above.
