Hi all
As a follow-on to the previous post, it seems that EGW is performing normally when accessing modules UNTIL I try to access Felamimail. This module is no longer loads, it merely stays with hourglass icon and no activity.
Any attempts to load other modules AFTER trying email also fail. I have to close the browser window, then re-connect & login to be able to access any of the modules. If I do not try to load Felamimail, but just try to go to the email preferences, there is a very long wait before the page loads (over 1 min).
This is the Email server profile list:
Description - global
SMTP server name - 142.25.56.13
imap server name - 142.25.56.13
Application - Any application
Group - Any group
User - any user
Active - Active
This behavior seems to have started shortly after I tried to configure the ability for a user to access an IMAP account that was not the same username/password as the EGW account.
Email is a key application here, and my push to have EGW as the groupware solution for our whole organisation is at risk if I cannot get this sorted. Right now, while other modules are accessible, the moment I try email, all modules become inaccessible.
I am not a programmer or even very good with scripting like php, so I don’t even know where to start looking. The server host logs don’t show any errors (that I can find) related to php, eGroupware, of failed connections. The Email server has not experienced any issues, and staff are sending & receiving fine with their own clients, such as Thunderbird.
All I need is a quick & dirty fix; is it possible to uninstall & re-install just Felamimail? Is there a chance this would fix the problem?
regards
Ken
Hi all
I have been encountering a significant performance degradation with EGW in the last 24hrs. The only system or global setting I directly changed was some email server connection information, but now all of the modules are very slow in responding to selections (ie clicking on Calendar or Resources leads to a very long wait, often minutes, before the module loads.
I have checked the underlying server (ClaerOS) and there is plenty of RAM available, and no process is consuming the CPU, and there is no disk-swapping occurring. Other services and applications on the underlying OS are performing normally.
The EGW logs are not showing any errors, and I don’t know if there is any performance logging in the EGW utility set. I do not know how to check performance on the underlying MySQL d/b.
Any pointers greatly appreciated
regards
Ken
