Hello Lars and Thomas,

Correct me if I’m wrong: using zend or extjs has no effect on any
production server?

If so, that’s to me the wrong direction, as then I won’t be able to use
that approch. I’m using hosted solutions for my customers and on that
webserver will not for a very long time change enything but a newer php or
mysql.

Give me any clue.

Regards, Remco
Artoge

Hello Remco,
the Zend Framework and ExtJS are just two core components (or better ‘frameworks’) needed for our Tine 2.0 effort. If you include them on your webserver, they won’t interfere with your existing environment because you have to include them in your PHP / JS Scripts to use them.
I’ll include some links to the project sites of Zend and ExtJS that give you further information of what they do and how they do it.
http://framework.zend.com/whyzf/
http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/requirements.html

http://extjs.com/learn/Ext_FAQ

And finaly, if you would like to know why we decided to choose those two frameworks, please take a look at:
http://www.tine20.org/wiki/index.php/Technical_background_of_eGroupWare_2.0

Hope i could help you.

regards
Thomas
