Database error Invalid SQL at Login eGroupware 1.5.011 revision 25934

Hello,

I get the following Error Message after pressing “Login” when I’ve entered a correct name and password:

Database error

I have eGroupware 1.5.011 at revision 25394 on Linux with MySQL 5.0.67, PHP 5.2.6 (compiled with support for MySQL, Mysqli and PDO-MySQL) and OpenLDAP

Thanks in Advance for your help!

No languages installed??? Setup Installed Languages …

I’ve installed German and English.
When I go to setup and say “delete and reinstall languages” and activate the additional Messages, then I get the following output:

Zurückgewiesende Zeilen:
Anwendung: , Datei: , Zeile: “exports entries from your timesheet into a csv file. csv means ‘comma seperated values’. however in the options tab you\tcan also choose other seperators.\ttimesheet\ten\tExports entries from your Timesheet into a CSV File. CSV means ‘Comma Seperated Values’. However in the options Tab you\tcan also choose other seperators.\n”

(The “\t” and “\n” are red.)

Can that cause the Problem?

Yep, translation phrases can NOT contain tabs (\t), as that’s the
delimiter of the csv file.

I fixed it in svn.

Thank you for your fast response.

I just found the same and removed that tab out of the egw_en.lang and reinstalled my languages without errors.

But I still get the same error Messages when I log in.

When I log in to setup and after that log out from setup and click on “Back to User Login” then i am logged in to the Groupware (without telling name or password) and see the following error messages:

Hi,

I can see were the error happens, thought I dont understand why.

Infolog tries to read it’s configuration (#3) which should lead to an
SQL query: SELECT * FROM egw_config WHERE config_app='infolog’
Not an empty string, but anyway the empty string is still valid SQL.

Looks like there’s something seriously wrong on your system

I can’t help without looking on the system …

Ralf

Hi,

I think I found what was seriously wrong on my system.

The db_type in header.inc.php was mysqli, I changed it to mysql and everything is fine now.

Is the db_type mysql the one that you would suggest or should I change to another one like PDO?

Ok, interesting, I had expected ‘mysqli’ to work - thought I never used
it, only the ‘mysql’ one.

eGW is currently not ready to use only PDO, but it requires PDO for the
new VFS in 1.6.

Can you detail what OS is on every installation, to collect more data?
To me, it seems the same, but the implementation of the packages
mysql/mysqli changes from one distro to another. Besides, as time goes
by, the feature is getting outdated with newer releases. It could also
be a bug in adodb, and maybe pdo solves it.

Regards.

Hi,

The System is a OpenSuSE 10.1, but I didn’t use the PHP, Mysql or Apache from Suse.
I am using a binary MySQL 5.0.67, a Apache 2.2.2 and PHP 5.2.6 compiled with the following options:
’./configure’ ‘–with-apxs2=/usr/local/httpsd/bin/apxs’ ‘–with-mysqli=/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config’ ‘–with-openssl’ ‘–with-zlib’ ‘–enable-trans-sid’ ‘–with-mcrypt’ ‘–enable-mbstring’ ‘–with-gd’ ‘–with-imap=/usr/local/imap-2007a/’ ‘–with-imap-ssl’ ‘–with-freetype-dir’ ‘–enable-bcmath’ ‘–with-ldap’ ‘–with-gettext’ ‘–with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql/’ ‘–with-pdo-mysql=/usr/local/mysql/’

One Apache vhost runs the production system (1.4.004) and the other is for testing (1.5.011).

Anything else you want to know?

I think I know what the problem is: mysqli never worked with the session
restore in 1.4, it only worked if that was switched off.

In trunk the session restore is now mandatory (you cat switch it off
anymore).

I’m sure mysqli needs only some code to restore the connection.

I guess you mean “can’t” instead of “cat”, which is ambiguous (it could
be “can” or something else I’m forgetting right now).

I’m sure mysqli needs only some code to restore the connection.

Do you mean this is an adodb bug? Should it be solved with pdo?

Regards.

Hi Oscar,

PDO is currently only used by the VFS’ SQLfs backend.

The rest of eGW still uses ADOdb.

There’s a __wakeup() method in the egw_db class with reconnects with the
database, when the session get’s restored. That should in principle work
with all ADOdb supported DBMS …

I think I know what the problem is: mysqli never worked with the session
restore in 1.4, it only worked if that was switched off.

In trunk the session restore is now mandatory (you cat switch it off
anymore).

I guess you mean “can’t” instead of “cat”, which is ambiguous (it could
be “can” or something else I’m forgetting right now).

I’m sure mysqli needs only some code to restore the connection.

Do you mean this is an adodb bug? Should it be solved with pdo?

Regards.

Ok, interesting, I had expected ‘mysqli’ to work - thought I never
used it, only the ‘mysql’ one.

I think I already reported that on tracker #1215

Can you, Ageless, confirm that?

Regards.

eGW is currently not ready to use only PDO, but it requires PDO for
the new VFS in 1.6.

Hi,

I think I found what was seriously wrong on my system.

The db_type in header.inc.php was mysqli, I changed it to mysql and
everything is fine now.

Is the db_type mysql the one that you would suggest or should I
change to
another one like PDO?
