Summary#3047 - Lastest Trunk Groupdav broken on iPhone?
I updated the egroupware yesterday and found iPhone not synchronising any more calendar and all contacts were gone.

Lightning and KDE groupdav still working fine, so does a third party app for the iphone that has its own caldav stack for toDos.

Account adding and verification on the iPhone works well and OPTIONS and PROPFIND requesst are sent to the server, however NOTHING syncs, not GET requests or PUT requests being sent.
Pretty lost, could not find any explanation.

iOS 4.3.5 (8L1)

Regards,
Ingo

Hi Ingo,

no Gregory has not contacted me.

AFAIK the EMAIL attribute is an iCalendar extension, which is kind of required if the URI value is not a MAILTO, but eg. a http(s) principal URL. You would have no email address for iTip messages in that case.

It’s kinda redundant if the value is a mailto.

I’m not sure why Joerg added it, as we usually generate MAILTO uri’s.

Hi Ralf,

I created a test subdomain with separate database to test this mornings trunk.
I also recreated the account on iPhone.
Yes, the autodetection on iphone works, the account is added and the collection is synced.
However, any subsequent change is not synchronised. Modified events from the iPhone do not make it back to the server and events added on the server do not appear on the phone…

Guess I will continue updating and bughunting until it will work…

But yes, I could see that invitees can now be added and deleted and that the availability can be set on the iPhone. So that’s what I call great work in progress.

Has Gregory Oestreicher contacted you re the “EMAIL” property in the iCalendar “ATTENDEE”? Apparently KDE KCalCore library chokes on it being not a standard item. They will do a fix but that might take some time until KDE 4.8.
Any reason for having it? It’s effectively a double up to “MAILTO”…

Hi Ingo,
I’m heavily developing on the CalDAV/CardDAV code in Trunk atm.
So it might happen things break for a short time.
That said, I can not reproduce your problem with the current code under iOS 4.3.5(8L1).
There is a problem autocompleting participants/attendees, which is fixed in iOS5.
There are some cool new features in Trunk now:

  • freebusy requests (iOS and Lightning)
  • delegation is working with OS iCal and can eg. be used to show other users calendars (need to be enabled (checkboxes) in delegation tab).
Let’ me know, if the problem persists for you. You might need to re-create the account on iOS.
