Tracking System: Bugs
Category: Timesheet
Version: Version 1.8.001
Status: Closed
Resolution: Works for me
Completed: 100%
Priority: 5 - medium

Summary: #2791 - Search in Timesheet doesn’t work properly
The search in modul Timesheet doesnt not work by InfoLog and Timesheet.
After selection of InfoLog or Timesheet nothing happens = there are no entries shown, .
However, the search by the other items in the drop-down menu works (Adressbook, Calender, KnowledgeBase, ProjectManager, Ressources, TimeSheet, TrackingSystem, Wiki) - there are the lists of items shown.
By the working entries, when I come with the mouse over the search button, there is the message “Click here to start the search” in the taskbar, and after clicking the message disappers search really beginns.
However, by the entries InfoLog and TimeSheet the message “Click here to start the search” doesn’t dissapper, so it seems to me the search doesn’t even begin because of a typo in the menu or similar.
This behaivior seems to be only in 1.8.001 Community version, because the demo site https://demo-epl.egroupware.de works flawless.
The bug can be repeated.

I think it’s the php version there are problems with php 5.3 smaller that 5.3.3 so you either need to upgrade or downgrade (to php 5.2.X) php - there are several issues about that on the mailing lists. Please have there a look.
I close that entry as this has nothing to do with Egroupware itself and it’s not a general bug.

Hi Birgit,
thanks for your quickly response.
My server runs Ubuntu 10.04, PHP 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.5, MySQL version 5.1.41.
In the meantime, I tried to reproduce the "bug" on more systems.
On a test system with Ubuntu server 8.04 EGW, PHP 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.12, MySQL version 5.0.51 the bug does not occur, so the problem must be somewhere else.
Right now, I have two working 8.04 (1 physical, 1 virtual server) with EGW 1.8 and three 10.04 non-working (2 virtual, 1 physical server).
I tried to compare php.ini from the working and non-working systems, but I didn’t find any useful differencies. May be you could point me to a direction where to look?
Many thanks in advance.
The thread can be closed, the bug comes not from EGW.

Hi Martin,
which server-settings do you use php, distribution, mysql …
We also have a demo for the community version and everything works there also flawless.
So this seems to be a problem of the technical settings and not EGW 1.8 in general

I forgot: there is an exact same behavior by editing a timesheet itself, when I try to "Create new links" to another Infolog.
Again, the search for Addressbook, Calender etc. works flawlessly, but InfoLog and TimeSheet give no response.
