hi,
EGW 1.6.002 is set with ldap authentification only (local sql data storage )
when an new user try to log in, after filling username and password and press Logging Button , nothing happens, (just the message waiting for myserver_name…in the status bar , the progress bar leave empty)
however, at the same time , on a admin session, if i look at the users accounts , my new user IS there .
on the frozen machine, if i press the red cross (interrupt the loading of the page ) and press the logging button again , it’s OK , I normally acces to the web interface .
After , no more logging problem , all goes fine and quickly
tested on IE 8 and Firefox 3.5

Never had that kind of problem.
I would recommend to trace the communication between LDAP and Apache.

EGW 1.6.002 is set with ldap authentification only (local sql data storage)
-the problem : when an NEW user try to log in, after filling username and password and
and press Logging Button , we have a VERY LONG wait (9-10 mn) before getting the welcome screen .
-It only happens at the first connection , when egw creates the new user in the mysql tables .
VERY IMPORTANT , with the 1.6.001 version : ALL IS OK .
Obviously , it’s the upgrade 1.6.001 1.6002 wich is responsible of this problem .
The only difference is, how the list of applications (to execute a hook
for) is compiled.
Maybe you should check, if you get different application names, each
way. That would be the only explanation.

I’m sorry , but the fact is, when i downgrade phpgwapi/inc/class.hooks.inc.php from rev 27127 to revision 25362 it solves the problem
I can’t explain why because I don’t know much about egw’s source (maybe some strange side-effect ?) but It works
Ps if I change again 25362 by rev 27127 : The problem go back .
obviously the changes between these 2 versions of this file are at the origin of the problem .
Tested on two differents servers with differents contents of database
Please report the differences of the returned applications, otherwise we
will not change anything back, as the changes were made for a good reason.

what do you mean by " the differences of the returned applications" ?
The commit you are referencing changes the way a list of applications
get compiled, for which the hook gets called.
This list should be identical in both cases. Having the problem you
describe, suggests they are not. So to be able to fix something, you
have to report the different list of applications.
