Summary: #359 - Implement SyncML 1.2
Newer Sony Ericsson phones seem to use the SyncML 1.2 standard and as a result synchronising with those phones isn’t possible in egroupware.
It seems horde have gone some way to implement this already http://lists.horde.org/archives/sync/Week-of-Mon-20060918/thread.html#1119
(and I believe egroupware uses the same system) and it would be good to see it in the next release for egroupware.

I updated the Horde parts of 1.6.001 with my extensions. With my patch applied EGW support SyncML 1.2. You may download my changes from http://k.noc.de/

Any news on this ? It’s still not fixed in 1.6. Its been ages and it seems quite a lot of people are waiting for this.

As SyncML 1.2 requires implementing MD5 authentication this could be a good point to start making SyncML more configureable:
- allow/require user to set a password for SyncML
- allow configuration of what to sync with which device (eg. personal AB only or personal AB plus groupA AB and groupB AB but not groupC AB and so on) – the same for calendar and Infolog…
- another good thing would be to have a chance to do a field match of the phone’s contact fields and egw contact fields (in contrary to adding “special” support for certain devices to the source)
The first of the three seems to be a necessity as MD5 auth isn’t possible with encrypted passwords used on the most default installations. The other two would be really nice to have!

This is a really annoying bug, the Horde framework used by egroupware is very old and has many bugs. Please provide a current Horde framework with egroupware.

Hi,
we reset all priority to 5, which is the new initial state of tracker items. The priority can now only be changed by Tracker admins or the assigned developer. This allows the developers to manage their work with the priorities. Users can vote to articulate their priorities.
Thanks for your understanding
Ralf
