Summary: #2505 - Addressbook add/edit window does not display correctly in Chinese and Japanese
Addressbook add/edit window does not display correctly in Chinese and Japanese. Specifically, it is the phone number and email address part of the page that experiences some formatting issues, as per the attached screen shot. The text displays vertically rather than horizontally.

This problem occurred in 1.6.002, and still occurs after I update the addressbook application to the latest. The screen shot is from the stylite demo system.

I’ve reproduced this error using Firefox 3.6 (for Mac), IE 8, and Safari.

This bug is reproduced by selecting the language before logging in, or from the preferences page. Select Chinese(simplified), Chinese(Traditional) or Japanese, and log in. Go into the addressbook and select ‘Add’, or select an entry and ‘Edit’. When the window opens it will display the text for phone, web and email addresses incorrectly.

Details of my system are as follows:
PHP Version 5.2.10-2ubuntu6.4
MySQL version 5.1.37
Ubuntu 9.10 x64
Apache 2.2.12

Any help that you could provide to solve this problem would be greately appreciated, even if it’s just pointing me in the right direction! Many thanks!

Mike.
