Thank you very very much, great job.

o.k.
have a look at your egroupware directory.
there should be a file xajax.php on line 11 there should be the version and the last changed date. it should be 28969 and 2010-01-14 if it is not.
download the file from svn and replace it.
Comment by Stefan Roder at 2010/01/18 10:48:
Me again, I think I found the mistake.
Apache error_log says:
PHP Warning: require_once(./phpgwapi/inc/xajax.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /srv/www/htdocs/xajax.php on line 14
This file doesn’t exist neither in my directory nor in your subversion directory.
Two possibilities:
my installation links to the wrong path/file or to location of xajax.inc.php has changed.
Any suggestion?
Stefan

Hi Klaus, good morning,
I checked with svn status * and it gave me a C at the main.tpl in the idots template. Checked out a new version - status C has gone but the error still exists.
Stefan
Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/18 09:26:
There is always the webservers error_log.
If you do a svn status * do you see any C 's -> that would mean there is a conflict somewhere in that file.
Comment by Stefan Roder at 2010/01/15 17:40:
Klaus,
switching to idots has no effect.
And you’re right - the whole ajax thing is corrupted.
I don’t know where to look for the error.
Is there another error log, which gives more information?
Thanks a lot for all your investigation.
Stefan
Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/15 16:05:
it seems that the ajax itself is not initialized.
Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/15 14:04:
you can forget about the warnings.
If you switch to idots, does it work then? probably not…
I tested today on a new SLES11 with php5.2.10 and I could not see the problem (but I used idots)
i could switch folders, and choose emails from addressbook entrys in compose as i typed
didnt try switching email accounts, since this was not mentioned. but if it is an ajax issue, i think it should affect all functionality depending on xajax in eMail.
Searching, flagging, moving, deleting should not work then.
Comment by Stefan Roder at 2010/01/15 11:30:
in xajax_core.js line 356 says:
return;xajax.responseReceived(oRequest);}
I don’t have a clue where there is the mistake …

Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/15 09:57:
check if your xajax.php is updated as well.
Strange, if the error occurred after updating to rev. 28906 then going back should do the trick.
Since it your production, can you go back further, to find out, what was responsible for the loss of functionality?
Can you see any errors with the web servers error_log?
Can you see errors with the javascript console, after you clicked on a folder?
(in FF Tools->ErrorConsole -> Clear console, click on a folder in attempt to change the folder
check the error console for Errors)

Hi Ralf,
checked all your hints and all the files are right in place. The only thing that’s different from a default installation is, that my groupware resists in the root directory of my webserver and not inside of /htdocs/egroupware.
Don’t know if this might be the reason.
I do a checkout by using:
svn checkout http://svn.egroupware.org/egroupware/trunk/"application"
and normally for the update:
svn update *
Tell me please, if there has been changes to that in the last time.
Regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
I checked on my Laptop (openSUSE 11.2, PHP5.3.0) and I can eg. search for or create links or attach files. Same is true for our production cluster in Germany.
I can only imagine your update is somehow not complete, please check if /phpgwapi/inc/xajax* are deleted and /phpgwapi/inc/xajax exists AND contains folders and subdirs according to http://svn.stylite.de/viewvc/egroupware/trunk/phpgwapi/inc/xajax/
Ralf

Hi Klaus,
reverting to 28905 is without any effect. I guess, me and my users have to wait for the solution. I know I’m on trunk, that’s the risk that you take
But I am thinking about changing to branch, as at our point of development, we cannot afford to loose too much functionality for a longer period.
For now, I’ll stay tuned for the next input.
Stefan
Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/13 15:11:
no, no progress jet.
It seems that the whole thing was introduced with the xajax changes.
If you revert to 28905 , does it help for the moment?
revert, and apply other changes as you need them, but avoid the ajax stuff for a while?!
thats trunk for you… its the development version
Comment by Stefan Roder at 2010/01/13 14:39:
Hi Klaus,
some more input on the bug:
- attaching a file is not working anymore, just to inform you. I think this belongs to the same reason as the other things.
- A user told me, that his emailaccount is being blocked by some other process when he tries to open it via thunderbird. Maybe this has something to do with some ajax functionality, but at this time I cannot give you more precise information.
Result up to now:
The whole emailapplication is corrupted and nearly without of use. Is there any progress in sight?
Best wishes from Hamburg
Stefan
Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/12 09:15:
No you should not, as you already have a 5.2.11.
I assume its an issue related to the ajax update. as you say it was introduced with revr28906.
This in combination to something else, seems to cause the problem.
Let me check with a recent suse, and I will come back to you.
Comment by Stefan Roder at 2010/01/11 20:54:
Klaus,
do you think it’s necessary to update to php 5.25? It’s not, what my suse would do by default (yast).
Leave me a hint, please.
Stefan
Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/11 17:33:
got to test on a suse system. my Dev Box seems to work flawlessly.
but it runs on a: php5.2.5, Mysql Server version: 5.0.51a, kind of old XAMP, old Ubuntu.
Comment by Stefan Roder at 2010/01/11 16:06:
Sorry Klaus…
I’m on 28921 - up to now, nothing changed.
Comment by Klaus Leithoff at 2010/01/11 15:59:
I guess that was an ajax related issue. should be fixed by now, as I cannot reproduce.
please update and retest. I put this on pending
Comment by balazs zeller at 1970/01/01 01:33:
This is after rev. 28906. Furthermore if you have multiple e-mail accounts you can’t change between them.
regds,
Balazs
